What is 3D Scanning?
3D scanning is a non-contact, non-destructive technique that digitally captures the shape and precise measurements of physical objects.
- How it works:
- Optical scanners project patterns of light onto the object’s surface.
- Two cameras capture these patterns with high accuracy.
- The scanner continuously records the object’s shape and distance in three dimensions (X, Y, Z) as it moves.
- The scanning software calculates the coordinates of each point, resulting in a complete and accurate point cloud.
