Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Adding 3D scanning to planned preventative maintenance programmes could save you thousands.
What can we offer?
- Qualified and experienced engineers, with a combined experience across multiple sectors of over 35 years.
- Through effective planned preventative maintenance our manufacturing clients can reduce downtime when crucial equipment fails, potentially saving themselves thousands.
What are the benefits of using PPM?
- Many of our clients do not have the original drawings or spares with which to keep their plant or equipment operating. They are still operating effective, older plant and equipment that was designed and manufactured in the pre-digital age.
- Some also operate equipment that is linked to a single supplier, who holds the monopoly on the equipment. Typically, such suppliers will either charge excessive amounts for spares or will only supply complete units not individual components. Through 3D scanning and reverse engineering, we can ensure that our clients can de-risk these issues.
What is Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)?
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) services are all about minimising the risk of lost production time and improving cost benefit through a scheduled maintenance programme. So, in anticipation of a parts failure, the best time to undertake 3D scanning of your key components / plant or to set up a digital archive is during a scheduled PPM maintenance period.
What is pre-digital?
Many such parts pre-date digitised design and our clients do not have original manufacturing drawings. Therefore, using 3D scanning, and by capturing data the part can be digitised, before being input into CAD. Once a model has been produced in CAD we can start optimising and redesigning the part. Alternatively the data can be stored in a digital library until it is required.
